Samantha Strickland

Samantha Strickland, PT, MPT, CLT, COMT

Sam is a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County. She graduated with honors from the University of  Maryland Eastern Shore. She worked at a local hospital for 11 years performing therapy in the inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings. Sam and Rita opened Ultimate Therapy in 2008 with a desire to provide quality one on one patient care. Sam is a certified lymphedema therapist, a certified orthopedic manual therapist and "SFMA certified (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) who continues to advance her skills through continuing education. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Rita Basista

Rita Basista, PTA, LMT, RPP

Rita is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, with over 15 years of experience. Rita has practiced in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinic, acute care and geriatrics. In addition, Rita is a nationally licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Myofascial Release, CranioSacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy. She combines her skills to create a unique blend of therapy for each individual.

Carolyn Selby

Carolyn Selby PT, DPT, MHA, OCS

Carolyn Selby is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 20 years of experience. She graduated with a B.S. in Health Sciences, Physical Therapy option from California State University, Northridge, a Master degree in Health Administration for the University of Southern California, and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences. She practiced in a variety of settings, with experience in geriatrics, orthopedics, and women's health. Carolyn is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS), as recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

Wendy Stepura

Wendy Stepura, PT

Wendy is a Licensed Physical therapist in the state of Maryland with over ten years of experience. She has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient facilities, and home health services. Wendy is SFMA certified (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) and has training in pelvic floor dysfunction and urinary incontinence treatment.



Kayla Hayden

Kayla Hayden, PTA

Kayla Hayden is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Maryland. She graduated in 2014 from the PTA program from the College of Southern Maryland. Kayla also received her Personal Trainer Certification in 2011. Prior to beginning her career as a PTA, Kayla received her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Accounting from Virginia Wesleyan College where she also participated as a member of the women's soccer program. Kayla now continues to embrace her love of sports by coaching high school athletics at her former high school.

Jenelle Cooper

Jenelle Cooper, PT, MPT

Jenelle is a licensed physical therapist with over 13 years experience in outpatient orthopedics. She graduated with a B.S. in Health Sciences with a Psychology minor from St. Francis College and her Master of Physical Therapy degree from St. Francis University. Jenelle specializes in women's health including pre and postpartum conditions, urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain. She also enjoys working with pediatric and orthopedic populations

Jennifer Mattei

Jennifer Mattei, PT

Jennifer earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences.  With over 12 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics, Jennifer is well qualified in treating post-operative patients and those with chronic neck and back pain. She enjoys working with athletes of all levels and ages.

Karen Szabo

Karen Szabo

Karen Strickland Szabo was born, raised, and has lived most of the last half century in St. Mary’s County.  She is an avid hiker, quilter, dirt rearranger/bush planter, animal lover, cheeseburger eater, reader, sunrise watcher, and EMT.  She has lived the Mary Poppins lifestyle and spent her life “filling in” at jobs to accommodate her hobbies.   She currently attempts to work as the Monday receptionist here at Ultimate Therapy and as a substitute teacher during the rest of the week.

Teresa J Clark MPT, OCS, CSCS, COMT

Teresa is a liscensed physical therapist with over 20 years of experience. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology from UC Davis and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merrit College. Her research study was published in the peer-review journal Physical Therapy and received the APTA award for student research. She is a board certified orthopedic specialist, certified orthopedic manual therapist, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and certified in LSVT Big, a treatment approach for people with Parkinson’s disease. She is committed to life long learning using evidence based research.
