Osteoporosis is a common condition that causes decreased bone mass which increases fracture risk. Data collected in 2014 by the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research presents that osteoporosis affects an estimated 10 million people aged 50 years and older. Additionally, just over 43 million people have low bone mass.

  • How many visits will I need?

    The amount of visits are dependent upon individual needs and expectations. 

  • Does insurance cover Physical Therapy for osteoporosis?

    Insurance does cover physical therapy for osteoporosis. Always contact your insurance before beginning physical therapy to verify your benefits.

  • Do I need a doctor's order to come to Physical Therapy?

     In the state of Maryland we are an open access state, meaning you are able to see a Physical Therapist without a doctor's order. Many insurances including Medicare do not require a doctor’s order as well. When we verify your benefits we will know if you need one or not. You can also call the number on the back of your card for clarification.
